Department of Commerce:
Summer 11th - Fall 12th grade

During the summer and fall of 2024, I had the distinct privilege of interning with the Department of Commerce, where I signifiantly enhanced my knowledge of economics and business through interdisciplinary work. I delved into the strategic importance of Tech Hubs via the CHIPS for America initiative and co-developed an Equity Initiatives slide deck aimed at potential investors. As a core member of the Office of Faith-Based and Neighborhood Partnerships, I collaborated with federal resources and played a key role in the planning and presentation at the Partnerships Summit 2.0, which facilitated connections between nonprofits and federal support. My September involvement in the National People with Disabilities Summit 2024 involved providing critical logistical support. Additionally, shadowing the Counselor of Equity offered me deep insights into the DEIA Council's efforts for cross-bureau coordination and policy development. My experience also included collaborating with the White House Liaison Office on appointee management and participating in AUKUS meetings to grasp the intricacies of the alliance between Australia, the UK, and the US, focusing on enhancing security and addressing mutual concerns about China.

Business Related Hobbies and Projects:

The Gulliver Signature Program for Business provided a thorough exploration of the field during my high school years. The classes enhanced my presentation skills, offered insights into potential careers, and helped me integrate creativity with my interest in mathematics. In my entrepreneurship course, my team developed an app concept that won first place at the Gulliver Business Showcase (see link). In IB Business Management, I examined business concepts through real-world case studies, focusing my research on sustainability (see link). Additionally, competing and achieving second place at the DECA competition for entrepreneurship was an invaluable experience that validated our efforts. Currently, I serve as Vice President of the Business Honor Society, where I lead and organize monthly meetings to discuss club initiatives, coordinate community service opportunities, and schedule guest speakers for our events.

Keystone Camp Leadership Program:
9th grade summer: Leader-in-Training
10th grade summer: AIDE

Keystone Camp holds a special place in my heart, a storybook of summer memories including horseback riding, lake swimming, badminton matches, unforgettable talent shows, and trips to Dolly’s, the local ice cream shop. Being accepted into the leadership program was a childhood dream come true. As a young camper, I looked up to the head counselors—strong, intelligent, and always armed with a fantastic sense of humor—hoping to emulate their inspiring qualities. During my two summers in the Leadership Program, I had the joy of mentoring younger campers, setting a positive example, and encouraging them to dive headfirst into the camp experience. I supported campers through their activities, homesickness, and social issues. Collaborating closely with the kitchen staff I played a key role in ensuring smooth meal preparation, organization, and cleanup, all to create a dining experience that was both orderly and delightful for everyone involved.
